Woody

WOODY REGAN has been conductor or pianist for many well-known performers, including Olympia Dukakis, Elly Stone, Kaye Ballard, Liliane Montevecchi, Donny Osmond and David Cassidy.
In collaboration with Sam Shepard and Joe Chaikin he created and played the piano score for their play WHEN THE WORLD WAS GREEN (A CHEF'S FABLE), which opened The Signature Theater's Shepard season at The New York Public Theater in 1996. In 1997 it played The American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Mass. In 1998 ART took the production, along with two other productions, to Moscow to celebrate the founding of The Moscow Art Theater. This was the first American company to play that storied theater, and Woody became the first American composer to perform his own work at that theater.

He has also composed incidental scores for many plays, including THE DUTCHESS OF MALFI, Oscar Wilde's SALOME, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, SCHOOL FOR WIVES, A TASTE OF HONEY (directed by Michael Mayer) and MARVIN'S ROOM. He has written additional songs for ALICE IN WONDERLAND, and he has composed original scores for THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT, based on the Lear poem, and THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE.
